German (Deutsch)

Courses Information

The German language is considered one of the major languages of the world, although it lacks the global distribution of other languages such as English and French. While it may not have the global reach of other languages, German is the most widely spoken first language among the 27 member European Union. There are an estimated 100 million individuals who speak the German language as a native tongue.

The importance of German is evident as Germany is a leading country in the world business. Germany is the most important trade partner for almost all European and many non-European countries. Research shows that German is the most important and widely spoken language after English as a leading language in almost all spheres of human activity.

The German language is spoken by more than 120 million people in Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and in parts of Belgium, Northern Italy and Eastern France. German is a key language in the European Union. This Union of 25 nations transcends Europe’s division into East and West and integrates the economically important countries of Central and Eastern Europe in its economic, political and cultural system with Germany as one of its central nations. Learning German improves your chances of success on the job market.
